Cortes School Creativity Project
The Cortes Island School Creativity Project supports innovative, place-based learning at Cortes Island School, a small, vibrant K–12 school rooted in arts-based education and land-based education and helps make possible a wide range of special projects that enrich student learning beyond core budgets, including large-scale collaborative art installations like the “Green Dragon” willow sculpture, field trips and experiential learning opportunities, technology upgrades, library development and special book collections, art and creative supplies, and community-wide events and celebrations.
By supporting these projects, the Cortes School Creativity Project helps nurture curiosity, imagination, and a sense of belonging, ensuring that students have access to meaningful and inspiring learning experiences that reflect the unique culture and local ecology of Cortes Island.
